Frankly, just going by the name, I\u2019d never have ordered it. But it is a real cocktail from the early 1900s and is actually rather tasty although some would find the fruit flavors cloying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The drink is designed to be served at room temperature but the brandies could be warmed for an aromatic hot drink on a cold dark night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Taste profile<\/strong>: sweet with a touch of bitter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 part Blackberry Brandy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 part Peach Brandy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 dashes Jamaica Ginger extract.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nutmeg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combine the brandies and ginger extract in your glass; grate nutmeg on top (or sprinkle ground nutmeg if you don\u2019t have the nut) and serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you would like to buy the book with all these recipes AND a horror story to go with each, you can get it from <a href=\"http:\/\/edmunddewight.com\/1dollar.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE in ebook form for only $1.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 8: Diarrhea Draught This has to be the most poorly named cocktail in existence.
